Joel Peter Witkin has called this piece “Galeria”. I believe that it fits under the Religious taboo with the form of the Crucifix as well as slitely sexual Taboo with the fact that  these suposably dead bodies are naked which sometimes symbolises sex. I believe the message of the piece was to convey the unormal relationship with sex and religion.
